The Red Seal Program — formally known as the Interprovincial Standards Program — is Canada's national certification standard for skilled trades. A Red Seal certificate confirms that a tradesperson's skills and knowledge meet the national standard for their trade and are recognised in every Canadian province and territory. XLR8ed Learning's courses are built specifically to prepare Canadian tradespeople for the Red Seal exam: aligned task by task to the Red Seal Occupational Standards for each trade.

We currently offer Red Seal exam preparation courses for Millwright (433A), Construction Electrician (309A), Welder (456A), Machinist (429A), Industrial Electrician (442A), and Plumber (306A). We are continuously expanding: our goal is to offer Red Seal exam preparation for every trade in Canada.

Every course includes a large bank of randomised multiple choice practice questions aligned task by task to the Red Seal Occupational Standards, detailed explanations for every question, a mastery tracking system based on your rolling average across your last 8 attempts, a full practice exam, an interactive curriculum browser, a sample quiz, and access to our Exam Report Analysis Tool. All courses are accessible on desktop and through our iOS and Android apps.

The C2C Plan is XLR8ed Learning's ongoing exam preparation offering. When you enrol, you receive 10 weeks of full course access. If you write your Red Seal exam and don't pass, we issue coupon codes for four weeks of renewed access before each subsequent attempt — at no additional charge, for as many attempts as it takes. No other exam preparation platform in Canada offers this level of commitment.

Our data shows that candidates who prepare for 8 weeks or more and sustain an 85% running average consistently achieve the strongest results on the actual Red Seal exam. The 85% running average tracks your performance across your last 8 attempts on any given topic. To meet the mastery threshold, you need to sustain an average of 85% or higher across those 8 attempts — not just pass once. A sustained 85% running average means you are genuinely prepared, not just lucky on a single attempt.
